The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lublin (Poland) hosted last March 15 the I International Conference "Multiplier Event" in the framework of the project "4D in the Digitalization of Learning in Practice Placement" to share the report's key elements and recommendations for how to introduce mobile technology into clinical practice settings.

El 4D project aims to create an individualized and personalized mobile application (app) for the management of curricular practices that will serve both students, tutors, supervisors and teachers of each organization that participates in this learning context.

With this technological application it is intended to improve the experience in learning based on healthcare environments. This project is coordinated by researchers Carlos Martínez and Esther Cabrera and by professor Carles García, from TecnoCampus, and has the participation of the University of Medicine of Lublin (Poland), the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (Spain) , Graz University of Technology (Austria), University of Twente (Netherlands), Kubify BV Learning Toolbox (Netherlands) and University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany).

The international conference, which had the participation of more than 100 people from different European countries, served to highlight the advantages and recommendations of incorporating digital tools that make it possible to create a bridge between health institutions and the academic environment . It was also the forum for the presentation of the first result of the project, the report "Key factors in the digitization of clinical practice environments in higher education".

This report, which will soon be published on the project's website, includes different recommendations obtained from the results of the study and which are summarized as follows: 1. Economic issues, technical characteristics, selection of devices, involvement of students and teachers and guidelines and policies are the five key aspects when designing an innovation for digitization in practices. 2. In order for technology to be implemented correctly, the following strategies must be adopted in parallel with technology adoption: training, teamwork, culture, staff involvement and patient empowerment. 3. After implementation, once the innovation has already been introduced into the practice environment and in order to guarantee the success of mobile learning, aspects such as maintenance, support must be taken into account technological, security and Internet access.

Following this event, the 16th transnational project coordination meeting took place on March 17 and XNUMX. This project is financed by the European Commission within the framework of the program Erasmus+ KA220 Cooperation partnerships in higher education.
