The Degree in Nursing has developed and implemented a Service Learning project through a third-year elective subject, in collaboration with the Guaita collective of the Social Platform Salesians Sant Jordi and with the support of the City Council from Mataró

This innovative, participatory and reflective educational initiative is based on the ability of students to integrate three fundamental principles of social justice: critical awareness towards the fair and equitable distribution of resources, recognition of others and their diversity, and democratic participation. Through this proposal, it is intended to address current educational and social needs from a sustainability perspective and in the closest context.

This study is being carried out by the Nursing Degree team and is linked to the doctoral studies of Gemma Garreta, teacher and researcher in this degree. It should be noted that this research is being supported by relevant institutions such as the National Conference of Deans of Nursing (CNDE), the General Council of Nursing (CGE) and the Service for Quality, Learning and Innovation (SQAI). This institutional support reinforces the importance and quality of the work carried out, consolidating the University as a reference in the field of Service Learning and research in Social Justice within the field of Nursing.
