The TecnoCampus hosted last February 20 a debate on how to win audiovisual technological sovereignty, in the framework of Som Audiovisual, a project promoted by Bit Lab, Fundació Platoniq, Clack and MTK Space that wants to work so that the model of the social economy be present in the new production, distribution and audiovisual consumption models proposed by the OTT and paid subscription model. It has funding from the Generalitat de Catalunya.

A significant representation of Catalan audiovisual higher education agents will discuss and reflect on how to promote new actions that allow to gain audiovisual technological sovereignty. During the day, moderated by doctor in communication and former professor at TecnoCampus Eloi Aymerich, there were staff from the institution itself, such as the coordinator of the Degree in Audiovisual Media, Jorge Oter. There were also representatives from the Institute of Audiovisual Techniques and the Barcelona Show, the Barcelona School of Audiovisual Media or the Bande à part Cinema School.

The objectives of the session sought to assess the need to develop new technological platforms by higher education centers in the field of exhibition (OTT, repository, video club, etc.). Also analyze the feasibility of developing micro-financing space for projects arising from the training centers (matchfunding, specific campaigns...). Or fostering links between the academy and the social and cooperative audiovisual production of Catalonia promoting professionalization within the social and solidarity economy.

The session closed with a very positive assessment, and a battery of viable actions to be developed in the medium and long term were drawn up.
