The closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the I-Talent course took place on July 7th in the TecnoCampus Foyer, where 18 students completed their training. This specialized course aims to promote inclusion, innovation and job placement of young people with intellectual disabilities.
The program, organized with the support of the Maresme Foundation, is part of the VIII Call for the development of university training programs for employment aimed at young people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders registered in the National Youth Guarantee System. The training has been promoted and financed by the ONCE Foundation and the European Social Fund. The course, which took place at TecnoCampus from September to June with a total duration of 330 hours, included master classes and inclusive with health and business degrees, workshops, tutorials and internships in companies such as Carrefour, Belles Arts Rovira Viñas, Vilaazari, Tecnopicking, i-Dositecno, Trepat Diet, Amazonic Souvenirs, Arxiu Comarcal del Maresme, Alcampo, Natur Center, Residència Llar Santa Maria, Fundació Centre de Formació i Prevenció, Espai Mataró Connecta and JD Sprinter.
This training has contributed to improving the employability of the young participants by providing them with transversal skills, such as social and emotional skills, and specific skills, such as technical knowledge necessary for their future professions. In addition to academic training, the course has included university life activities and an inter-university meeting with other Catalan universities in the city of Tarragona, allowing both students and faculty to share experiences on the different programs.
During the closing ceremony, Elisa Sayrol, academic director of TecnoCampus; Clara Díaz, Technician of Programs with Universities and Promotion of Young Talent of the ONCE Foundation; Laia Serras, Technical Reference of the Maresme Foundation; Laura Seijo, councilor for Inclusive and Healthy City, Neighborhoods and Communities of the Mataró City Council; and Miguel Guillén, academic coordinator of the specialization course, spoke.
Councilwoman Laura Seijo was in charge of closing the event, dedicating a few words of congratulations to the students. After the event, students, families and speakers celebrated with an aperitif. The doors are now open registrations for the next edition of the I-Talent course 2025-2026
Summer camp of the UniDiversidad program of the ONCE Foundation
On the other hand, this July, Mataró becomes the epicenter of Catalan university inclusion. For ten days, it hosts the only summer campus of the UniDiversidad program of the ONCE Foundation and the European Social Fund that is being developed in Catalonia.
This is an intensive experience that brings together 30 young people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, with a disability certificate equal to or greater than 33%, from different parts of the territory, with the aim of promoting cross-curricular skills and abilities.
The iTalent+ campus is coordinated by the Fundació El Maresme, with the academic support of TecnoCampus and the leisure promotion by the Entramat Association. The program is free of charge for participants, as it is 100% funded by Fundación ONCE and the European Social Fund, and includes a 10-day stay in Mataró with accommodation, adapted leisure, sports and cultural activities, as well as a practical and creative training itinerary.
The objective: to promote transversal communication skills and abilities, as well as emotional development and real coexistence. This year, the project is being rolled out on 14 campuses spread across 14 cities in the State, with the participation of 19 universities and 21 social entities.
