Ignacio Blanco holds a PhD in Medicine and Surgery, specializes in General and Digestive Surgery, and is a Clinical Geneticist accredited by the Spanish Association of Human Genetics. Accredited in Genetic Council in Hereditary Cancer by the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology. Vice President of the Spanish Association of Human Genetics since June 2015. He is currently the Coordinator of the Transversal Program of Advice and Clinical Genetics (pTAGC) of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital. The pTAGC is an innovative and integrative program that harmoniously combines the care of patients and their families in both the clinical and psychosocial fields, clinical research, basic research and teaching. Her care work focuses on the identification and monitoring of individuals and families with genetically based diseases, with a special interest in minority diseases. He has participated in the development of clinical practice guidelines, both national and international, for the management of hereditary predispositions to cancer and is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (ERDF). He is the author or co-author of more than 130 articles in Indexed journals. Current major lines of research focus on the study of Neurofibromatosis and the emotional impact of genetic counseling on inherited diseases. At the teaching level he is an associate professor in the Department of Surgery at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a Collaborating Professor at the School of Health Sciences of the TecnoCampus Mataró
