What is Start-UPFlama?
It is a program to support the creation of innovative companies co-organized by the UPF and the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme. It is mainly aimed at students and graduates of the Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). The aim of the program is to promote entrepreneurship in the university community by harnessing the creativity, initiative and knowledge of the participants, while helping them to create innovative companies that bring wealth and well-being to society.
Who is it for?
Students
Students who are studying for a degree, master's or doctorate at the UPF.
UPF graduates
Graduates of any UPF course during the last four academic years.
Other candidates
Other candidates, as long as they are part of collective nominations in which at least half of the team is made up of UPF students or UPF graduates from the last four academic years.
Program schedule and phases
Calendar
The main dates and deadlines of the program are as follows:
- Registrations: from its opening until December 5, 2023.
- First phase: will be carried out during the month of December 2023.
- Second phase: will take place between January and May 2024.
- Third phase: it will take place between May and June 2024.
Phases
First Phase: Business Model Canvas
EThe selected projects receive support to devise their value propositions and their business models following the model Business Model Canvas.
Second Phase: Training
A selection committee chooses the projects with the most potential to move on to the second training phase. Key aspects of entrepreneurship are addressed, such as financial management, marketing, negotiation or pitch presentations.
Third Phase: Constitution and first steps
The jury chooses the winning teams who, in addition to the prize for each edition, also receive support from the UPF to carry out their incorporation as companies.
