Tecnocampus, as a science park, integrates the value chain of the R+D+i system, generating an ecosystem in the territory based on four axes: academia, government and public administration, private sector and productive fabric and civil society. The Open Tecnocampus project wants to delve deeper into this quadruple helix model implementing under a single strategy several actions that help bring the research carried out at the institution closer to the citizens of the territory of Mataró and the Maresme, as well as encouraging their participation.

The first objective is to facilitate the approach of science, technology and innovation to citizens. To achieve this goal, the following actions have been taken:

  • Elaboration of informative materials on the activity carried out by the research groups, technological transfer and innovation. Specifically, 11 videos have been produced on the activity and research lines of the research groups available at this link: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVCTls8K7yVnL4g7eFYJxZd6Eql15DvG9
  • Holding workshops and conferences on different areas of knowledge in a practical and fun way. During the execution of the project, 13 conferences and one talk were held in which 375 people participated (41% of whom were women).
  • Organization of the Open Tecnocampus event, an open day of the science park.
  • Creation of a register of citizens interested in the activity carried out at Tecnocampus.

The second objective is to encourage the active participation of society in R+D+i processes. To achieve this goal, the following activities will be carried out:

  • Creation of a network whose mission will be to promote society's participation in R+D+i.
  • Revitalization of the Tecnocampus Fablab.
  • Realization of an Install Party or project fair, in which 15 institutes and more than 500 people participated.
  • Elaboration of a document one code of good practice, to systematize the knowledge acquired in the project and plan what other actions can be promoted to involve citizens in R+D+i.
