What is it?

To help repair the economic and social damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the European Commission, the European Parliament and EU leaders have agreed on a recovery plan that will lead the way out of the crisis and lay the groundwork for a modern and more sustainable Europe.

The Recovery Plan for Europe (NGEU) for high-impact projects towards a greener, digital and resilient economy related to the digitalisation of people, the productive fabric, technological infrastructures or the reform of the Public Administration is endowed with 750.000 billion euros to finance transformation projects.

Industrial Doctorates

Object: Competitive grants for the development of Industrial Doctorate projects (hereinafter, DI projects) in any field of knowledge and in any business sector. The research project must be developed within the strategic framework of a company or entity in the business environment and, at the same time, within a research group of a research body, in which the doctoral student or doctoral student must carry out her research training, with the aim of writing a doctoral thesis.

Entity: Government of Catalonia

Quantity and conditions:

The academic community can benefit from this call for research bodies, in particular public and private universities in the university system of Catalonia, as well as research centers, hospital foundations and technology centers based in Catalonia.

The following entities may benefit from this call from the business environment, as long as they are not research bodies or bodies dependent on them:

a) In the DI-COFINANCED projects, companies with a work center in Catalonia. Centers attached to universities, departments, delegations and territorial services of the Generalitat de Catalunya are excluded.

b) In DI-SPECIFIC projects, companies with a work center in Catalonia or outside Catalonia.

Business and academic organizations must have signed a collaboration agreement to jointly develop a DI project.

Ideas Prowered for Business: Bonds to help protect intellectual property

Object: This bonus grant is intended to help SMEs in the field of intellectual property, in order to prevent their unique ideas, products or services from being copied without authorization. It includes a catalog of diverse assets, such as trademarks, designs and models, patents, corporate identities, products, services and processes.

Body: EU Intellectual Property Office.

Amount and conditions:

  • 90% for pre-diagnosis services of intellectual property (IP Scan).
  • 75% in application fees for trademarks, designs or fees, fees for additional classes and fees for examination, registration, publication and postponement of publication both nationally and regionally and at EU level.
  • 50% of basic application fees for trademarks, designs or designation fees and subsequent designation fees outside the EU. Designation fees originating in EU countries (ES11) are excluded, as well as processing fees charged by the office of origin.
  • 50% in patent pre-grant fees (e.g., filing, search and examination), grant and publication nationwide.

And there are two types of bonds:

  • Bo nº1. It can be used to register patents. The maximum refund amount is 750 euros.

EIC accelerator Open 2022: support for SMEs with high-impact innovations

Object: It supports companies (primarily SMEs, including start-ups) to scale high-impact innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones.

Body: Horizon Europe Framework Program (HORIZON)

Amount and conditions:

The EIC Accelerator offers a unique combination of between 0,5 and 17,5 million euros in financing and business acceleration services.

The EIC Accelerator focuses especially on innovations, based on scientific discovery or technological advances ('deep technology') and where significant funding is needed over a long period of time before returns can be generated. patient '). These innovations often struggle to attract funding because the risks and time involved are too high. Object: Support for companies with applied technological innovation projects, very close to the market, with medium / low technological risk and short periods of return on investment, which manage to improve competitiveness.

Amount and conditions:

  • Fixed interest rate with two options depending on the chosen repayment period:
    • 3-year amortization: 0,2-year Euribor + XNUMX%.
    • 5-year amortization: 1,2-year Euribor + XNUMX%.

  • Maximum loan amount: €1.500.000.
  • Maturity: maximum 9 years.
  • Lack of principal: maximum 7 years.

Requirements:

  • Co-financing of the financial needs associated with the business project.
  • The company's own funds will be equivalent, at least, to the amount of the loan.
  • The company applying for an ENISA loan must show a balanced financial structure and professionalism in management.

New Productive Industrial Investment Support Fund (FAIIP)

Object: The Productive Industrial Investment Support Fund (FAIIP) is set up to provide returnable financial support to promote industrial investments that contribute to promoting industrial development, strengthening industrial competitiveness and maintaining the territory's industrial capacity.

Object: TecnoCampus has signed an addendum to the agreement it had already signed in 2019 with Microbank and Caixabank with the aim of improving the financing of self-employed workers and micro-enterprises.

This addendum has included the line of financing in order to meet current needs arising from Covid-19.

Amount and conditions: Up to 25.000 euros, intended for freelancers and micro-enterprises in need of working capital caused by the current crisis, with a fixed interest rate of 3,9%, without opening fees, study, partial or total cancellation.

Catering and Trade Financing (ICF AVALIS)

The recipients of the loans are self-employed people and micro-enterprises in the restaurant and small business sector whose activity has been affected as a result of the measures implemented due to the Covid-19. The loan line, initially endowed with 20 million euros, has the guarantee of 100% of Avalis de Catalunya.

The amount of the loans has been set at 15.000 euros plus the risk and mutuality expenses inherent in Avalis de Catalunya. Recipients will be able to apply for five-year credits with a grace period included in the term.

Object: Loans for companies in the social and cooperative economy to finance investments, working capital needs, advances in contracts with the public sector and capitalizations of the companies themselves.

ICF-IFEM participatory loans. Corporate entrepreneurship

Object: ICF manages through IFEM the support for the creation and development of innovative start-ups through venture capital programs and co-investment with private investors through participatory loans.

Amount and conditions: The expenses associated with the development of the business plan that is the subject of the application will be financed.
