AID FOR RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION

RESEARCH Program

Object: Grant of two-year grants for the recruitment of young people seeking employment in carrying out research and innovation initiatives. It will be possible to hire researchers, technologists, technical staff and other professional profiles in R+D+i, as well as, where appropriate, research support staff excluding in any case administrative support work.

Organisation: Government of Catalonia.

Quantity and conditions: Aimed at various bodies and universities that do R+D+i, but also companies.

  • Candidates must be above 16 years and below 30 years
  • Being unemployed and registered as job seekers with the public employment service of Catalonia.
  • Not having carried out any type of research activity at the same entity, company or group of companies in the 6 months immediately preceding the start of the contract.

The aid to cover gross salary and social security expenses will be €33.108,92/year.

Object: Promote the incorporation of doctors in companies and technology centers.

Quantity and conditions:

  • Subsidies from 25% to 70% of the annual salary cost for 3 years.

Projects to promote the Circular Economy

Object: Foment of projects to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy in Catalonia, improve efficiency in the use of material resources and decouple global economic development from resource consumption.

Organisation: Government of Catalonia.

Amount and conditions: Class A, B or C projects related to material resources and waste other than water, energy and atmospheric emissions defined below can be subject to the subsidies regulated in these bases:

  • Class A. Implementation projects in the market of new products or services in the following categories:
  1. Ecodesign of products or services that promote greater efficiency of material resources other than water and energy with an improvement in environmental benefits and a reduction in environmental impact throughout their life cycle.
  2. New business models that promote resource efficiency (servitization, collaborative economy, etc.)
  3. Reuse, preparation for reuse, maintenance and repair of products and other ways to extend the useful life of products and their components. Food utilization
  4. Return services of used products promoted by the distributor or manufacturer of these products with the purpose of reusing them, remanufacturing them or recycling them (take-back schemes).
  5. Remanufacturing
  6. Industrial symbiosis that promotes the efficiency of material resources other than water and energy.
  • class B. Projects to obtain and test prototypes or demonstration projects of new products or services, from the following categories:
  1. Ecodesign of products or services that promote greater efficiency of material resources other than water and energy with an improvement in environmental benefits and a reduction in environmental impact throughout their life cycle.
  2. New business models that favor the efficiency of resources (servitization, collaborative economy, etc.).
  3. Reuse, preparation for reuse, maintenance and repair of products and other ways to extend the useful life of products and their components. Food utilization
  4. Return services of used products promoted by the distributor or manufacturer of these products with the purpose of reusing them, remanufacturing them or recycling them (take-back schemes).
  5. Remanufacturing
  6. Industrial symbiosis that promotes the efficiency of material resources other than water and energy.
  • Class C. Sectoral studies with communication actions for business or trade union associations: Projects that include the preparation of studies on the potential of the circular economy, either at the sectoral or territorial level, are considered within this class. and the resulting communication actions (campaigns, conferences, etc.).

The classes are mutually exclusive. The same project cannot be a combination of classes A, B or C.

The amount of the aid is a maximum of 75% of the expenses subject to the aid for micro-enterprises and SMEs, or 50% if the beneficiary company is not a micro-enterprise or an SME. The amount is a maximum of 60.000 euros per project in the case of class A or B projects, and of 30.000 euros per project for Class C projects.

UNICO SECTORAL 5G program

Object: Promote experimental development projects that develop applications and services based on the framework of 5G technology that achieve the digital transformation of an economic sector. It is intended to promote a productive fabric that thinks, creates and designs applications and services that take advantage of this technology, exercising a role as a driver and demonstrator for the specific application sector, and thus strengthening the role of Spain as one of the driving poles of digitization through the application of 5G technology throughout the EU.

Amount and conditions: Characteristics of the projects:

  • Individuals or in cooperation (maximum of three entities).
  • The developed 5G applications and services can be deployed on private, self-service, public or mixed networks.
  • Projects must start from TRL 5 or 6 technological maturity level.

Budgets: minimum project €1M and maximum €15M

CHALLENGES - COLLABORATION 2023

Object: Support experimental development projects in cooperation between companies and research organizations, with the aim of promoting the validation and pre-competitive development of new technologies, products and Services. The proposals must be framed in a single challenge from those mentioned below:

  3. Civil Security for society.
  4. Digital world, industry, space and defense.
  5. Climate, Energy and mobility.
  6. Food, bioeconomy, natural resources and environment.

Amount and conditions:

  • Projects in cooperation.
  • The coordinator must be a company.
  • Minimum number of participants: 2 entities, a company and a public or private research body.
  • Minimum participation per entity: 10% of the total project budget.
  • Business participation: no entity should exceed 70% on its own.
  • Members who do not request aid are not accepted.
  • Business aid modality: Up to 95% loan. Interest: 1-year Euríbor published by the Bank of Spain on the same day of the month prior to the publication of the call. If this were negative, the interest will be 0%. Maximum repayment period: 10 years. Period: 3 years, which will begin to count on February 1 of the following year of the corresponding annuity. Maximum repayment period: 7 years.

Object: Industrial research or experimental development projects in Spain with a high innovative component carried out by companies with foreign capital participation.

Body: ICEX AND MINISTRY OF INDUSTRY, COMMERCE AND TOURISM

Amount and conditions:

Companies that meet the following requirements: 

  • Carry out an economic activity, whatever its legal form. 
  • Be validly incorporated in Spain. 
  • Have a foreign participation of at least 50% of the share capital. The foreign partners who participate in the capital can be both legal entities domiciled abroad and natural persons not resident in Spain.

The following expenses will be subsidized: 

  • Personnel expenses (researchers, technicians and other auxiliary staff). 
  • Instrumental and material expenses. 
  • Costs of buildings and land. 
  • Contractual research expenses, knowledge and patents acquired as well as consulting expenses and equivalent services intended exclusively for the project. 
  • General costs and other additional operating expenses.

Innovation Hotline - CDTI

Object: Support for companies with applied technological innovation projects, very close to the market, with medium / low technological risk and short periods of return on investment, which manage to improve competitiveness.

Amount and conditions:

  • Fixed interest rate with two options depending on the chosen repayment period:
    • 3-year amortization: 0,2-year Euribor + XNUMX%.
    • 5-year amortization: 1,2-year Euribor + XNUMX%.
  • Aid of up to 75% of the approved budget (up to 85% if co-financed with the ERDF).
  • Non-refundable portion (calculated on a maximum of 75% of the approved budget: (CDTI Fund: 2%, FEDER Fund: 5%).
  • Close to 35% of the aid with a limit of 400.000 euros, without requiring additional guarantees to the financial conditions approved by the Board of Directors, and up to 75% with guarantees considered sufficient by the CDTI for the difference.

Object: Grants to SMEs and the self-employed for the process of digital transformation of the business.

Body: Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.

Amount and conditions: It consists of a digital bonus with an economic amount for you to administer by choosing one or several digital solutions from the offers by the accredited digitization agents who develop the catalog services: web development, e-commerce, social media management, customer and supplier management, business intelligence and analytics, virtual office services and tools, process management, e-invoicing, secure communications and online cyber security.

Digital voucher amount:
• Small companies between 10 and less than 50 employees - €12.000 open.

Support Program for Digital Innovation Hubs

Object: Fmention the innovation of SMEs through the European EDIH program. For this reason, innovation and the adoption of disruptive digital technologies by SMEs in any productive sector will be promoted, financing the provision of services by entities belonging to the EDIH to the SMEs that benefit from the aid.

Organisation: Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.

Amount and conditions: The actions subject to the aid will consist of services that facilitate the adoption of disruptive digitization solutions by the beneficiaries. These services will cover the following types of services: 

  • Initial advice for the implementation of technologies: It will consist of a specialized consulting service, estimated with an average duration of 70 consulting hours, in order to offer expert knowledge in the field of digital transformation that provide ideas to the SME to be more competitive and improve the business model thanks to the use of new technologies.
  • Trial and experimentation, including technological proofs of concept: They will include the practical application of technical expert knowledge and services in the field of digital transformation, including testing and experimentation facilities, to enable the SME to check the technical feasibility of an idea, through the evidence of the functionality and potential. They will include:
    • Analysis of the technical, commercial or social viability of the results subject to the proof of concept. 
    • Obtaining prototypes, pilot-scale demonstration, tests with end users, or other activities that allow the validation of the result, process or product and its passage to real scale.

Terms: September 30, 2025 or until funds are exhausted.

Aid from La Caixa's Youth Employment program 

Object: Encouraging the indefinite hiring of young people.

Body: The Caixa.

Amount and conditions: Direct aid of 4.800 euros for indefinite contracts formalized between 22 November 2022 and 31 March 2023 to young people between 16 and 29 years of age for a minimum period of 6 months. Contracts must be full-time and only part-time work will be accepted in the case of ERTE with reduced working hours due to Covid, during the period in which this ERTE is in force.

Unemployment rate rebates for unemployed people 2022

Object: Aid for the promotion of economic activity in Mataró

Body: City of Mataró

Amount and conditions: B60% discount on the fee for environmental licenses and prior communications, and for controls after the start of the activity, for people who are unemployed, or a 75% bonus for people unemployed under the age of 30.

Who can ask for it? People who start an activity in Mataró and who are sole proprietors or constitute a private civil society or community of property.

You can request:

Object: Encourage the creation of businesses with the bonus to Social Security contributions for the self-employed.

Amount and conditions:

Men and women who are registered in the Special Scheme for Self-Employed Workers of the Social Security, who have not been registered in the previous 5 years.

Men over 30 and women over 35, a maximum bonus of 24 months:

  • 80% reduction of the minimum fee for 12 months (flat rate: € 60).
  • 50% reduction in the minimum fee for the next 12 months.
  • 30% discount and bonus for another 6 months.

Men up to 30 years and women up to 35 years, a bonus of up to 36 months:

  • 80% reduction of the minimum fee for 12 months (flat rate: € 60).

Accounting of the perception of the unemployment benefit with self-employment: People who are receiving the unemployment benefit and register as self-employed, can reconcile for a maximum period of 270 days the perception of the benefit upon enrollment in the RETA (special self-employment regime), as long as the application is submitted within 15 days of enrollment.

New Productive Industrial Investment Support Fund (FAIIP)

Object: Promote competitiveness and modernization, through the digital and sustainable transformation of small and medium-sized trading companies and trade associations and entities.

Amount and conditions: They may be beneficiaries of these subsidies: 

  • Self-employed professionals registered in the special regime for self-employed or self-employed workers, owners of a retail establishment.
  • Small and medium-sized companies owning a retail establishment, registered in the tax census of economic activities.
  • Territorial entities, guilds and sectoral non-profit trade entities and sedentary and non-sedentary municipal market associations. 

In the field of trading companies, the beneficiary must have at least one establishment at the foot of the street in Catalonia. To finance:

Object: Funding of investment projects to improve the competitiveness of the video game and digital creation sector, improve its resilience and boost its internationalization.

Eligible activities:

  • The pre-production, production and distribution of video games.

ICF-IFEM participatory loans. Corporate entrepreneurship

Object: ICF manages through IFEM the support for the creation and development of innovative start-ups through venture capital programs and co-investment with private investors through participatory loans.

Amount and conditions: The expenses associated with the development of the business plan that is the subject of the application will be financed.
