Description of the academic, research and / or professional profile

I have worked at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, in the Control Section of the Institute of Cybernetics, a joint center of the CSIC and the UPC, and as a professor in the ESSAI department. I have also been the Technical Director of the company Epromos, dedicated to automation and also to the marketing of CAD systems applied to the electronic and textile sectors. I have worked as a consultant on issues of organization, industrial control, and application of the ISO 9000 quality standard, from the company Guspira Soluciones Informàtiques i d'Organització, SL. In 2009 I promoted the creation of the Center for Integration Skills, dedicated to interoperability in healthcare computing. From 2009 to 2012 I was in charge. Since 2013, I have continued to collaborate with the center, within the Tecnocampus Transfer Area, promoting interoperability projects and the application of semantic standards in the use of ICTs applied to the Health and Welfare sector, until 2015. Since 1996 I have been a professor in the Automation group at the Tecnocampus Polytechnic School, and a member of the GRESIT research group. I am currently a professor in charge of the subject Digital Transformation of the Industrial Company in the master's degree Industry 4.0 organized jointly by the Polytechnic School of Tecnocampus and the Open University of Catalonia. I am an external consultant for the implementation of Business Intelligence. I collaborated in the editorial team of the magazine Automàtica e Instrumentación until 2016. Since 2017 I have been collaborating in the editorial team of the magazine infoPLC ++ (http://www.infoplc.net/plus -plus).
