General information

Subject type: Mandatory

Coordinator: Julián Horrillo Tello

Trimester: First term

Credits: 4

Teaching staff:

Joan Ramon Gomà Ayats

Skills

Specific skills
  • Know the systems and processes of manufacturing, metrology and quality control

Description

The subject is framed within the environment of mechanical engineering.

The first part of the course focuses its scope on the parts of metrology necessary for mechanical engineers to accurately define the shape and characteristics of the parts that make up the mechanisms and manufacturing engineers can verify that the manufactured parts meet the requirements. designer specifications.

The second part addresses the engineers responsible for manufacturing processes and trains them in the tools needed to ensure the quality of manufactured products and to manage the quality of processes and the organization.

This subject has methodological and digital resources to make possible its continuity in non-contact mode in the case of being necessary for reasons related to the Covid-19. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills that are specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

The Tecnocampus will make available to teachers and students the digital tools needed to carry out the course, as well as guides and recommendations that facilitate adaptation to the non-contact mode.

Learning outcomes

Use measuring instruments to verify the dimensional specifications of the parts.

Define self-control guidelines in manufacturing processes.

Determine the specifications of the parts and the permissible tolerances to guarantee their functionality.

Plan the quality assurance system in manufacturing.

Attendance at all learning activities is compulsory.

Working methodology

Theoretical classes where the fundamentals of the subject will be exposed and doubts and questions of the students will be solved.

Practical classes where the works that the students will do will be considered and reviewed.

Individual and team work.

Learning activities

Face-to-face classes in the classroom (large group): the theoretical subject will be developed and examples, problems and practical cases will be carried out.

The learning method will be based on problem solving by students, interpreting the result.

Practical classes (small groups): by means of laboratory equipment, practices of use of measuring instruments will be done and works will be carried out where practical cases of self-control sheets, statistical control of processes, structure of quality manuals and memories will be made of total quality. Your attendance is mandatory.

Evaluation system

There will be a final exam, continuous assessment tests and practical work.

The grade of the course will be calculated with 0,3 Grade of practical work + 0,7 Maximum (continuous assessment grade, final exam grade)

An extraordinary resit exam for the final exam will be held.
