Description

The Final Degree Project (TFG) is a personal, in-depth work on a topic or problem, of synthesis and often transversal within the scope of the degree studies taken by the student, with the purpose that the student demonstrate their ability to apply the training acquired throughout the degree studies, by certifying the obtaining of the degree title.

The student's personal work linked to the completion of the TFG corresponds to 25 hours per ECTS (500 hours with a TFG of 20 ECTS).

The TFG is an individual work without detriment that can be an independent part of a work developed jointly between students of the same or different degrees. In any case, the evaluation of the TFG is individual.

Learning outcomes

At the end of the process, the student must be able to:

LO1 Apply the knowledge, processes and techniques learned during the degree to research and / or the ideation, planning, development and possible marketing of an audiovisual or multimedia piece.

As complementary results, the student must be able to:

RAC1 Analyze a problem and develop a project appropriate to its field, in compliance with its objectives, consistent and offering a new contribution, as an audiovisual / multimedia product or as research, according to specifications

RAC2 Evaluate the different possibilities of project resolution, analyzing the interest and viability, and know how to apply the most appropriate

RAC3 Understand and apply the techniques of planning, execution and documentation of the different phases of a project, if necessary with a realistic budget

RAC4 Prepare a project report which includes, according to its typology: problems to be solved, objectives, references or state of the issue, conceptual or theoretical framework, methodology and phases of the project, project development or analysis of results, conclusions, bibliographical references and future lines of work and, where appropriate, economic study

RAC5 Carry out a control and follow-up in installments

RAC6 Communicate a project both orally and in writing

Working methodology

The student will carry out the TFG, in general, under the direction of a teacher from the School. If appropriate, the TFG may be co-directed by professors or graduates from outside the School. The tutor will guide and support the student with a regime of personal interviews according to what is established in the TFG Regulations.

The student will have to devote a time corresponding to 20 ECTS (500 hours of dedication) to the completion of the work. This time must be distributed for the completion of the applied part of the Applied type work and the realization of the memory in all types of work, Research or Applied. The different TFG evaluation documents and rubrics recognize a different distribution for each modality, according to the preparation, if applicable, of an applied part.

The student will have to write a document about the TFG completed. A panel will evaluate the project and propose a rating, within the intended evaluation system (see Evaluation System).

The TFG is regulated by its own regulations, available on the School's website and which must be followed in detail. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in the suspension of the TFG subject.

However, at the beginning of the work process, the person in charge of the TFG of the degree will conveniently inform of other documents, rubrics or regulations that may affect TFG.

Learning activities

DEVELOPMENT AND ELABORATION OF THE TFG:

Carrying out the TFG and drafting its appropriate documentation.

The TFG documentation will be carried out in accordance with TFG regulations. The documentation will have to reflect in detail the work done and will be one of the elements that the court will take into consideration to evaluate the work.

The TFG regulations include two types of work:

  1. Research works: consist of a research around an object of study and produce a report according to the sections contemplated in TFG regulations; they have no applied part
  2. Applied works: consist of the creation of an audiovisual or multimedia product, accompanied by a report according to the sections contemplated in TFG regulations

During the preparation of the documentation, three follow-up deliveries will be made, which will be evaluable according to the criteria contemplated in TFG regulations (see Evaluation system):

  • Preliminary design delivery
  • Delivery Buffer
  • Delivery Final report

These deliveries will be made according to the calendar of the TFG call in question.

With the realization of the report and / or the corresponding applied part, as well as with its defense, the acquisition of the Learning Results is guaranteed: RA1, RAC1, RAC2, RAC3, RAC4, RAC5, RAC6.

With the realization of the memory and / or the corresponding applied part, as well as with his defense, work the competitions: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, as well as those transversal and specific suitable to each project.

Evaluation system

According to the TFG Regulations, its evaluation is organized as follows:

  • 30% of the final grade will be given by the tutor with the evaluation, distributed according to specific regulations of the degree, of the deliveries made during the follow-up
  • 70% of the final grade will be put by the court, after the TFG is filed

The TFG will be assessed by the court after its deposit. The evaluation will consider the development and quality of the documentation and, in the Applied TFGs, also of the product. According to the TFG Regulations, to access the qualification described above it is essential to pass (obtain a qualification of 5 or more) the court.

The panel will evaluate the TFG based on technical and artistic difficulty, achievement of objectives, usefulness, rigor and quality of the work, among others. At the beginning of the process, the TFG Committee of the degree will publish the objective criteria with which the TFG will be assessed, in accordance with the TFG Regulations and through the appropriate documentation, if applicable.
