Description


The subject of Business Administration is the first approach to the elements of organizational planning and economic and financial management of a project in the framework of the subject of Production and Business. The subject works the central elements of the administration and management of modern companies such as planning, organization, direction and control. The course consists of theoretical and practical sessions and a work of application of a business idea. In order to acquire the knowledge, the subject is evaluated with the elaboration of a group work and with the realization of tests of individual knowledge.

This subject has methodological and digital resources to make possible its continuity in non-contact mode in the case of being necessary for reasons related to the Covid-19. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills that are specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

Learning outcomes


At the end of the course students must be able to:

E12.5. Develop entrepreneurial projects, taking into account the business model, its viability, the marketing and sales plan and the customer.

Learning activities


In order to gather evidence of the achievement of the expected learning outcomes, the following evaluative activities will be carried out (related to all the common competences):

 

A1. Exercises in class and at home: (Evidence of learning outcome E12.1, E13.1., E13.2, E13.7)

Exercises and practices to do in class or to do at home through documents, books, articles and other formats. The exercises done at home and in the classroom will be solved together and will be used to comment, analyze and generate class discussions about the contents of the subject.

 

A2. Group work: planning a business project (Evidence of learning outcome E12.5, E13.1, E13.2, E13.7, E14.2, E14.3)

Implementation by the work teams (3-4 people) of a business project applying the fundamental elements of business administration explained in the theoretical contents of the subject.

The development of the work has weekly tutorials inside and outside the class, so that the students can apply the contents explained in the theoretical sessions.

 

A3. Final exam (Evidence of all learning outcomes) Individual test that evaluates all the contents of the subject.

 

General criteria of the activities:

Class exercises, as a general rule, will be done individually.

Group course work will be presented in DIN-A4 paper format. They must be correctly paged and must have: index, introduction, body of work, conclusions and bibliography (annexes are optional).

The teacher will inform of the dates and format of the delivery of the activity.

The teacher will present a statement for each activity and the evaluation criteria.

Evaluation system


The grade of each student will be calculated following the following percentages:

A1. Exercise in class and / or at home: between 4 and 6 activities on the contents of the subject: 20%

A2. Group work: planning a business project: 30%

A3. Final exam: 50%

Final grade = (A1 x 0,2) + (A2 x 0,30) + (A3 x 0,50)

Considerations:

Papers and exercises submitted outside the deadline will not be accepted and will be listed as an undelivered activity. The activities not delivered will count as a 0. In order to be eligible for the continuous assessment of the subject, it is essential to obtain a grade equal to or higher than 5 in the exam.

The final examination of the subject will take place on the day designated by the Management of the center.

Recovery:

Finally, students with a grade of less than 5 in the final grade or with the failed exam must take the re-assessment exam for the subject. This exam will evaluate all the contents worked during the course and the mark obtained will be the final mark of the subject (the continuous assessment will not be taken into account). Therefore, in the re-assessment exam it is necessary to obtain a grade equal to or higher than 5 in order to pass the course.
