The scene of the practice of care professions, including Nursing, has undergone rapid and profound changes in recent years that have changed the nature and objectives of their activity. Some of the causes have been the current proliferation of regulations governing the rights of users of the healthcare system, the diversity of healthcare and Public Health activities, the desire to mainstream gender as an ethical foundation in nursing practice along with the rest of the Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) scheduled by the United Nations, the increase in vulnerable groups that require visibility by the health system, the application of ICTs to the sciences health, the new professional challenges facing pandemic situations, as well as the requirements and availability of resources and means, among others, facts that involve an increasingly complex and demanding professional exercise.

This professional responsibility does not only involve monitoring and complying with current legislation, but also ethical and moral responsibility, given the various situations and/or ethical-legal conflicts that occur in the practice of the profession.

It is these reasons that require a deep and interdisciplinary reflection of the health professions in order to provide answers in the search for professional excellence.

Bioethics and Health Legislation as disciplines offer tools and resources to promote and encourage reflection, dialogue and management of possible answers to the ethical-legal dilemmas that arise from professional practice and the social moment, always taking into account those col .the most vulnerable groups in our society.

Evaluation system

The evaluation of the competences will be carried out continuously with the following activities:

A system of quantitative (from 0 to 10) and qualitative (suspended, approved, notable, excellent, honorary registration) is used according to RD 1125/2003.


To pass the subject, it is necessary to obtain a grade of 5 in the exam. This is the only assessment activity capable of recovery and will consist of a final exam in the recovery period where the minimum grade must be a 5. 

In the event that any member of the group does not record the delivery of the work by individual or group decision, the work will be evaluated with a 0. This work cannot be carried out or recovered individually.

In accordance with current UPF regulations, you can only opt for recovery if the subject has been suspended. If the rating is Not Presented, you will not be eligible for recovery.

In the case of failing the subject, it must be recovered next year (no note will be saved).

The total or partial copy in any of the learning activities means a "Not Presented" in the subject, without option to present in the proof of recovery and without prejudice of the opening of a file for this reason.
