Description


The subject of Management and Innovation in Nursing Care is a subject of the third year of the degree of Nursing in the category of compulsory subjects within the subject of Advanced Nursing Sciences.

The course offers the opportunity to work on the basics of administration, planning and organization of health services. També es descriuen i analitzen les bases legals del sistema sanitari espanyol i català, així com els aspectes de finançament, la despesa sanitària, l'eficiència, la qualitat, la cobertura i l'equitat. This vision will be expanded with the study of other health systems on an international scale. There is no shortage of innovation and gamification in this subject, which are part of both the curricular content and the possibilities they offer in healthcare practice. In this subject we also work on the importance of the concepts of quality and safety, the knowledge of different models and designs, as well as their repercussions in practice.

Thematic Unit 1. Conceptual framework and elements of the structure of health organizations. Conceptual framework of management. Organizational models. The management of health care

Thematic Unit 2. Clinical and economic management of care and resource management: HR and materials management. Management of nursing care. Information systems: components and structure. Subsystems. Hospital and primary care information systems. Electronic medical record (HCE): models, structure and organization. Integration, interoperability. Management of nursing care plans.

Thematic Unit 3. Development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of the quality of care: Patient and healthcare organization safety policies. Quality management models. Safety culture in the healthcare environment. Error analysis and learning. Design of proposals for quality improvement. Quality and safety standards. Evaluation and continuous improvement of quality. Quality of care in nursing care.

Evaluation system


The evaluation of the competences will be carried out continuously with the following activities:

The quantitative (from 0 to 10) and qualitative qualification system (suspended, approved, notable, excellent, honors registration) is used according to RD 1125/2003.  

- Exam: The exam is a test of knowledge acquired in relation to the use of the contents of the subject. The exam is designed with a minimum of 50 text-type questions with 5 answer options. At least two exam models will be prepared.

- Work in group: It is an assessment activity that is based on the preparation of a group work that guides the student in the development of a proposal for an innovative idea based on the field of nursing management. Group work cannot be done or recovered individually. In the event that any member of the group does not record the delivery of the work by individual or group decision, the work will be evaluated with a 0.

- Participation in the classroom (Simulation): There are a total of 3 simulation sessions with individual and participation evaluation.

Recovery: To pass the subject, it will be necessary to obtain a minimum grade of 5 in both the exam and the group work. In case of suspending the subject for do not pass the exam, the student will take another exam with the same characteristics as the one taken in the ordinary call. In case of suspending the subject for not overcoming group work, the student will carry out a work with characteristics similar to that of the first call, based on the teacher's instructions. The recovery of group work cannot be recovered individually.

The total or partial copy in any of the learning activities means a "Not Presented" in the subject, without option to present in the proof of recovery and without prejudice of the opening of a file for this reason.
