Description


The main objective of this subject is that the student acquires the necessary skills to advise and prescribe healthy lifestyles in the general population at all stages of life in order to improve the quality of life of people and reduce the risks of non-communicable diseases.

This optional subject proposes to delve into the prescription of physical activity for health as a healthy habit that determines an active and healthy lifestyle, taking into account current global trends and guides for health promotion and improvement. of quality of life.

This subject has methodological and digital resources to make possible its continuity in non-contact mode in the case of being necessary for reasons related to the Covid-19. In this way, the achievement of the same knowledge and skills that are specified in this teaching plan will be ensured.

Learning outcomes


- Learn to design plans for the establishment and adoption of active and healthy habits in people, taking into account individual particularities and the area related to the environment in which they live.

- Be aware of the importance of developing individual social and cognitive skills in the application of their professional skills.

- Identify the specific health needs according to the socio-cultural characteristics of individuals and the community to respond effectively to the needs of all populations.

- Identify resources and assets in health to be able to design community actions for the whole population.

- Apply the knowledge of planning, structuring and programming of physical exercise to be able to design sessions aimed at special populations.

- Identify and analyze the key factors in international health and the development of peace through sport in countries with war and / or low and medium incomes considering the global and local perspective. 

- Understand the importance of appreciating diversity and multiculturalism to ensure holistic and quality care and know the cultural characteristics that identify ethnic minorities and / or vulnerable groups of the population to understand the cultures and customs of other countries and thus adapting the contents of physical activity programs for health.

 

 

 





 

Working methodology


This subject is part-time. This means that there is a part of the subject that will be done in person, in the classroom, with different individual activities or in groups and a percentage of the subject will be worked autonomously, outside the classroom.
The methodology in part-time subjects requires the responsibility of the student and their good time management.
The methodology of the subject will be carried out combining face-to-face sessions in the classroom, with autonomous work, with the support of the virtual learning environment. The percentage of time that the student spends in the face-to-face and autonomous sessions is divided as follows:

Both in the face-to-face sessions and in the autonomous work, the student will work individually and in work groups.
Each ECTS is equivalent to 25 hours of student dedication, considering the time invested in the total of the activities related to the face-to-face time and the time of autonomous work, that the professor of the subject guides, as well as the reading time, information search, connection to the Virtual Classroom, elaboration of works.

Learning activities


The activities of the subject will follow the system of continuous evaluation, that is to say, that throughout the term the professor will propose several activities, that the students must solve and deliver. The work of each one of the activities allows to value to the student on the follow-up that realizes of the asignatura and of the elements of improvement, from the comments and notes that the professor will realize of the activities.
The activities that will be proposed can be individual or in work groups. The teacher will give the instructions so that the students can elaborate and deliver them. All the activities that will be proposed will be designed so that students have a practical perspective on the topics that are developed throughout the ten weeks of the term.

Qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September, which establishes the European credit system and the system of qualifications in university degrees of an official nature and valid throughout the state):

The final grade of the student is the result of a continuous assessment through different assessment activities. The pass of the subject is obtained with a grade equal to or higher than 5 points (out of 10 points) according to the following weighting table:

REQUIREMENTS TO PASS THE CONTINUOUS EVALUATION:
- Compulsory minimum attendance at face-to-face sessions of 65%. This fork of permitted fouls will already include fouls due to illness or injury.
IMPORTANT:
If the continuous assessment is not passed due to non-compliance with any of the necessary requirements described above, the student will fail the subject.
Recovery:
You can choose to retake the job and the exam.

In accordance with current regulations, in the evaluation activity of the exam, you will only be able to opt for the recovery, if it has been suspended. In case of Not Presented, it will not be possible to opt for recovery.
