Description


The subject of the latest techniques in sports physiotherapy aims to give students the knowledge necessary to carry out rigorous physiotherapy care in the field of sports, both preventive and in the treatment of the injured athlete.
The main injuries in terms of muscle, tendon and ligament and the main means of recovery in each of the recovery phases of the effort will be studied.

Within the subject there is a practical content where the techniques of sports massage and functional bandages will be developed.

This subject aims to introduce the gender perspective in its content and development

Learning outcomes


LO24.Interact with other health and physical activity professionals to base an intervention plan based on the specific clinical diagnoses of each of the professions.

LO27. Interact with medical professionals to gain therapeutic efficacy. Set joint intervention goals.
Identifies the main physical agents used in physiotherapy interventions. Classify them according to their effect and importance and establish order of priorities in their therapeutic application.

LO20. Analyze the patient's expectations regarding their evolution, demand and needs.

LO21.Establish the intervention protocol based on the joint negotiation between therapist and patient.

LO22. Carry out a physiotherapeutic diagnosis to determine the dysfunctions and disabilities that will require a specific physiotherapy intervention.
LO23.Identify the main treatments used in physiotherapy interventions for each of the clinical specialties. Classify them according to their importance and establish order of priorities in their therapeutic application.

LO28. Analyze the effects produced by the interventions. Evaluate benefits and risks and establish an intervention criterion based on the priorities and effects pursued.

LO29. Carry out the specific physiotherapeutic diagnosis for each of the clinical specialties in order to determine the dysfunctions and disabilities that will require a specific physiotherapy intervention.

LO51.Apply the appropriate therapies in each situation in order to obtain the highest benefit with the greatest effectiveness. It applies the manual and instrumental techniques for the treatment of the dysfunctions derived from the sport practice. Evaluate the results and adverse effects.

LO30.Analyze the patient's expectations for each of the clinical specialties with regard to their evolution, demands and needs.

The marks of the different evaluation activities will make a weighted average regardless of the mark obtained.

It is compulsory to attend 80% of the practical contact hours of the subject.

The total or partial copy in any of the learning activities will mean a "Not Presented" in the subject, without option to present in the proof of recovery and without prejudice of the opening of a file for this reason

Recovery exam

According to current regulations, only those students who have obtained a grade of suspense to the subject. Activities not submitted (NP) cannot be recovered. 

The activities of the e-portfolio cannot be recovered. Only the theoretical and / or practical exam can be retaken. The grade obtained will be weighted average with the other grades in the e-portfolio.

According to the qualification system (Royal Decree 1125/2003, of 5 September, which establishes the European credit system and the qualification system in university degrees of an official nature and valid throughout the state), the final grades will be established as follows:

0 - 4,9: Suspension (SS)

5,0 - 6,9: Approved (AP)

7,0 - 8,9: Notable (NT)

9,0 - 10: Excellent (SB)
