  • Show knowledge of the organization of maritime, land, air and multimodal transport, customs management and international trade in order to manage and / or contract transport

  • Demonstrate knowledge about the structure, organization and management of ports -sport and state-of-the-art- where the traffic of people and goods, nautical leisure, fishing and tourism coexist, emphasizing cruises

  • Identify the basic economic concepts, as well as the microeconomic and macroeconomic functioning of the markets

  • Select and use quantitative instruments for decision making and contrasting economic hypotheses

This subject provides knowledge about the essential aspects of port management and the entire port reality, as a business, in a globalized and changing environment

Working methodology


Theoretical sessions

  • Master classes: teacher exhibitions supported with multimedia material.
  • Conferences: face-to-face sessions, either in the classroom or during a visit to a company and/or institution, in which one or more specialists present a subject from the syllabus from a professional perspective.  

 

Guided learning

  • Visit: guided tour of some Port Authority and/or some of the companies that develop their activity in the port.

 

Autonomous learning

  • Critical reading of articles. Reading professional and/or scientific articles

Tutorials: face-to-face and non-face-to-face (ESCSET email and intranet).

Evaluation system


The final mark will be the results of the weighting of the following activities and exams: 1) 20% of the work and their oral presentation; 2) 30% intermediate exam; and 3) 50% final exam. In order to be able to make the sum of these three concepts, an exam grade of more than 5 out of 10 will be required.

 

In case of retake, the final mark will be 80% of the mark of the retake exam (if the mark is higher than 5 out of 10) and 20% of the work.
