A total of 51 high school students, training cycles and the University participated last weekend in the Som Hackathon, jointly organized by the TecnoCampus, the City of Mataró and the cooperative Som Mobilitat. On this occasion, it has focused on the construction of technological solutions for local and responsible consumption.

The initiative has had the sponsorship of the company Adevinta and the support of various entities and companies that have made possible an intense weekend of work, training capsules and debate. The initiative has attracted students from other universities, has allowed to form interdisciplinary teams to encourage teamwork and has allowed high school students from various centers in Mataró to participate in the initiative.

These are the prizes awarded:

#SomHackathon Award for training cycle and high school teams. The prize is for the Progress team, formed by Albert Font, Albert González, Cristobal Sanchez, Roger Ayza., From the Pia Santa Anna School in Mataró. Project called Goeco, which wants to help new generations to access local power in the easiest way through an application where the user registers. Once registered, the user has access to all the local shops in the area that were registered in the application in order to be able to buy more easily, and also promoting the digitization of local shops. It includes a scanner to determine if a product is close to trade or not.

University category awards:

  • Best technological quality: MatesInfo Kings, formed by the students of the University of Barcelona Héctor Balsells, Miquel Sala, Pol Gabaldon, Martí Martínez, Caros Raso, and Joel Hurtado. Project: WeBuyLocal, which aims to revitalize the local economy and encourage conscious and collaborative consumption, and reduce food waste. Proposal focused on the town of Mataró. Application with a system that gives points to consumers who exercise responsible consumption, points that can then be exchanged for rewards through the generation of QR for businesses.
     
  • Best concept proposal to the challenges posed: 2k team, formed by TecnoCampus students Ivan Fernández, Xinyang Xiang, Marina Codony and Pilar Jimeno. ECORadar project, focused on reducing plastic. Application that will help environmentally conscious people use less plastic and eat healthier food, and reduce food waste. The app includes a map of where you live with points of purchase, bulk product finder, or the option to purchase from the app itself.
