Erasmus Policy Statement (Overall Strategy)

TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme (TCM) is a Science and Innovation Park based in the city of Mataró. With an international scope, TCM AIMS to make a decisive contribution to the area s social and economic transformation. Its mission is to act as the region s main driving force to find, foster and promote the talento needed for the social and economic development of our area. We foster año entrepreneurial culture at all levels with business pre-incubation programmes which allow our students to begin their profesional careers with their own projects. Considering global economy, TCM must be at the front of año programme that promoter international mobility as a way to be well positioned in order to ACHIEVE its main development

TCM ofrece a wide range of higher education degrees. As a higher education institution, one of its main pillars is Internationalization. Thus, participation in the Erasmus programme is strategic in order to ENHANCE international mobility of all its actores. TCM Chooser partners according to the following objetivas:

  1. Enable Exchanges of students and academic staff
  2. Share knowledge and expertise in both teaching and research areas
  3. Explore new collaboration Avenues in postgraduados and joint degrees
  4. Share experiences in entrepreneurial projects

TCM is mainly interesado European partners but also in countries from Emerging areas such as South America and Asia.

TCM s strategy is moving on to the achievements of agreements for joint degrees and postgraduate courses Delivered by several European partners. Another importante issue to work on deeply in the near future is Entrepreneurship. Thus, we intendente to find partners for whom entrepreneurship is critical in order to Contribute to the area s employment network.

Another field of particular interest to TCM is the promotion of internships. Practical training in companies is fundamental as complemento to the student s learning and experience. We strongly believe that the Erasmus programme can be a way to offer a wide range of Possibilities for Achieving practical experience in a real work environment.

So far, TCM has signed double degree agreements with a university in the UK and only for one of its bachelor 's degrees.

Our goal in this matter is to extend this kind of agreements in order to offer double degrees to mosto of our courses. We intendente to explore with partner institutions the possibility to design multiple degrees as an innovative higher education offer in the near future.

TMC s strategy to organize and implemento international cooperation projects in teaching and training is mainly based on student s interests and also on the goals established by the institution. Students feel particularly attracted by international mobility in English-speaking countries oro in countries where the tuition language is English (Mostly northern European
countries and some central European countries). Economic reasons also take their parte in their preferences as it is Cheaper to travel to nearby areas.

Other areas of great interest are North America and Canada both due to their economic potential and geo-strategic influence and to their being English-speaking countries.

Having this in mind, TCM AIMS at establishing teaching cooperation projects with institutions from those areas.

Practical training is another importante issue to our students as a way to gain practical experience related to their studies, which can enable them an easier introduction into the job market, and also as a means to improve their competence in foreign languages ​​(English in the majority of casas). Consequently, año programme that contributivo to the achievement and fulfillment of these goals is of high esteemed. And we strongly believe that the Erasmus programme can do a lot in this sin.

Cooperation projects in entrepreneurial initiatives are also appealing to TCM as one of its principal goals is to promote business ideas which may turn into start-ups with location in the Science and Innovation Park. Entrepreneurship will be strengthened by taking parte in European seminarios and projects together with other European partners aiming at fostering the creation of start-ups and new businesses which Contribute to the economic growth of the European Union. Professionalization will be promoted by the participation in training programs which enable students and Graduados to carry out in-company training as a way to start their profesional life.

That international contexto will absolutely help os recruiting more students, who will become after a few years new higher education Graduados with the European flag as their main "emblem". Through the Exchanges of our académico staff the quality and relevance of teaching and researcher training will be improved to the extent of being competitive worldwide.
International experiences provide our Graduados with outstanding knowledge and core Transferable competences sonido as to be competitive in an extremely competitive job market.

Students who enjoy an international exchange like that provided by the Programme gain additional opportunities to Acquire those particular skills needed to success in our highly-demanding académico career. Study and training abroad must become an essential part of the student s development and, as such, will Encourage cross-border co-operation to carry out económico, cultural and social projects within higher education institutions.
