The subject of Cardiorespiratory Pathology is located within the subject of Physiotherapy in clinical specialties. It is a compulsory training subject for the Degree in Physiotherapy and the double degree in Physiotherapy and CAFE.
The subject includes the study of different cardiac and respiratory pathologies, as well as those clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects that interest physiotherapists.
The pathological processes are explained, which must provide a logical basis for the development of their professional activity.
The subject requires students to have basic knowledge of cardiovascular and respiratory physiology and anatomy.
This subject aims to introduce the gender perspective in its content and development.
LO23: Identify the main respiratory and cardiac pathologies. Learn medical-surgical interventions, effects and results. Contribution of physiotherapy in the treatment and improvement of medical and/or surgical interventions.
LO24: Interact with other health and physical activity professionals to base an intervention plan based on the specific clinical diagnoses of each of the professions.
LO27: Interacts with medical professionals to gain therapeutic effectiveness. Establish joint intervention objectives
RA31. Assesses the patient's physical and mental state. It determines the level of severity, dysfunctions, handicaps and limitations both at an individual and social level.
RA52. Interacts with other health and physical activity professionals to establish an intervention plan based on the specific clinical diagnoses of each of the professions.

MD1: Expository method or master lesson: conveying knowledge and activating the student's cognitive processes through one-way learning

MD4: Problem-based learning (PBL): developing active knowledge through problem-solving

The assessment of the subject consists of a continuous assessment part, a final exam and group work in the form of an electronic portfolio.
SE1: Electronic portfolio: 20%
SE3: Partial exams and individual assignments: 40%
SE3: Final exam 40%
The total or partial copy in any of the learning activities will mean a "Not Presented" in the subject, without option to present in the proof of recovery and without prejudice of the opening of a file for this reason . ”
Recovery period:
Regarding the recovery, it will only be possible to retake the final exam, not the continuous assessment part.
The final grade of the subject will continue to be a sum of the continuous assessment, the group work (60%) and the final make-up exam.
Students will have the option to retake the subject in case they have taken the final exam and have failed.
