Description

The subject Practicum I includes all those activities within the teaching-learning process aimed at acquiring skills in the healthcare environment of professional practice. During their development, the student participates in clinical practice, as well as in group tutorials that guide them to reflect on clinical practice.

Practical I integrates all the knowledge, skills, skills, attitudes and values acquired in all the subjects of the Degree in Physiotherapy and is carried out under the tutelage of qualified physiotherapists with extensive professional experience. One of the figures will be the clinical tutor of the collaborating entity where the student will carry out the internship and his main function will be to ensure that the internship goes well, respecting its educational purpose. This figure is presented as an indispensable tool in the student's learning during this period. The advice, support and tutoring ensures quality in the process of achieving theoretical and practical knowledge of the student, in an area of transcendent importance, such as external practices. The other figure will be the academic tutor who will be a university professor who guides the student's learning process always from a teaching perspective and in contact with the tutor/ to clinic Both tutors have the function of guaranteeing both the development of the skills acquired by the students and their assessment. This is a continuous and formative assessment, where both generic and specific skills of each of the Practicums are assessed.

The subject of Practicum I has as its main objective direct contact with patients and the multidisciplinary team in different private hospitals, where patients with different acute, subacute and chronic injuries of different levels of complexity are treated.

Contents

In the Practical I subject, students put into practice the knowledge gained during the theoretical learning of the degree and articulate theory with practice, developing the critical capacity necessary for the training of professional questioners.

Supervised external internships aim for students to develop and integrate, in a continuous and progressive manner, the necessary skills to apply in a real professional context the knowledge acquired in the different subjects that make up the study plan. The contents that will be worked on in Practicum I are related to learning the practical model of physiotherapy intervention in the different specialties of the profession, such as prevention, evaluation, specific diagnosis, design of the different intervention protocols and plans personalized performance

Practicum I is composed of two blocks:

- a practical block of external practices at physiotherapy centers arranged with private mutuals

- a block for preparing the memory of external practices and a face-to-face seminar reflecting on the experience of the first contact with real patients
