What are you looking for?
EC15: Basic knowledge of production and manufacturing systems.
CT2: That students have the ability to work as members of an interdisciplinary team either as another member, or performing management tasks in order to contribute to developing projects with pragmatism and a sense of responsibility, assuming commitments taking into account the available resources.
The course aims to teach different types of production strategies that allow you to design a production system in the most efficient way. Identify the parts of production processes without added value and optimize them.
The tools that will be taught mostly in this subject to be able to design processes in the most optimal way, are the tools of the LEAN methodology and Toyota Production System.
At the end of the course, the student must be able to design or improve production systems based on the elimination or reduction of tasks without added value, focus on the value chain and reduce production costs. generated by waste and under performance. It must also be able to create a working standard as the basis of the production system.
In addition to the theoretical definitions in class, simulation practices of the tools that will be explained for a better achievement of the concepts will be developed.
There will be practical exercises for the analysis and improvement of real production processes using videos recorded with authorization.
The same Excel spreadsheets that are used to analyze processes in some companies will also be used.
Fundamentals of strategy:
Lean Manufacturing
Product design in the framework of the new economy
Introduction to the digital transformation of the company
Environmental management
The activities will be developed in class and in most cases will be done in groups to encourage teamwork.
Final course exam.
