A jury evaluates aspects such as whether the context of the investigation and its relevance are clearly presented; the objectives and possible results of the research; or the logic and coherence of the presentation. In addition, elements such as the use of appropriate language for a non-specialist public are valued.

The professor of the Degree in Audiovisual Media Àngel Valverde, who is currently preparing his doctoral thesis on the topic "The specialization of musical composition" at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), has won the first prize in the regional competition "Tu theses in 3 minutes", in which he competed with more than a hundred doctoral students, in the Arts and Humanities category.

In this activity, participants must explain the objectives and conclusions of their thesis in front of a jury made up of representatives from the Doctoral Schools of the University of Alcalá (UAH), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC).
