The president of Renfe, Raul Blanco, accompanied by the mayor of Mataró and president of the TecnoCampus Foundation, David Bote, presented this morning at the Antena TrenLab Mataró facilities, located in the TecnoCampus park, the second edition of the awards of the same name, which aim to promote innovative solutions in the field of mobility.

Previously, during a visit to the Mataró Renfe station, they were able to learn from their promoters the proposals developed over the last 6 months by the winners of the first edition of the awards. Cactus, Wipass, Drukatt and Hypervisoul have been able to demonstrate how it could improve the experience of travelers thanks to their projects.

Antena TrenLab Mataró is the first territorial node of the Antenes TrenLab network powered by Renfe, a space for open innovation and entrepreneurship in sustainable mobility that is located in the TecnoCampus, looking for synergies with the park's entrepreneurial ecosystem. In addition to launching the second call for awards, during the event, the new website of the project, which allows you to follow the agenda of activities and the latest developments in the sustainable mobility ecosystem, as well as the characteristics of the second edition of the awards and the testimonies of the winning companies of the first edition.

With one endowment of €150.000, the prizes are organized around four challenges:

  • Railway Station Experience, focused on the search for solutions that promote universal accessibility to people in a broad sense (beyond functional diversity, situation or condition). It also aims to encourage intermodality between territories Endowed with €40.000
  • Customer happiness, aimed at developing solutions that make possible the adaptation and adaptability of rail transport to the different uses and mobility needs, ensuring continuous and real-time attention in any situation of the daily operation of the service. Endowed with €40.000.
  • Safety Rail, this challenge aims to improve safety conditions, especially from a gender perspective, and promote users' civic attitudes in relation to infrastructure and people, promoting a coexistence environment based on trust. Endowed with €40.000.
  • Keep it open!, with this challenge we are looking for start-ups that can inspire with disruptive solutions that are not yet widely implemented in the railway sector, based on new technologies (metaverse, virtual reality, robotics, etc.) or trends (quantum computing, drones, etc.). Endowed with €30.000.

    In addition to the financial endowment, the four winning companies will enjoy a six-month solution acceleration process that includes the possibility of testing the solution around Mataró and the Maresme, as the companies have done in the first edition.
