Last July 13, it took place at the TecnoCampus conference center the Investment Day, a connection event for investors and entrepreneurs with participation of more than 100 people. The investment Day was realized in collaboration with the Economistes Ban investor network, of the Catalan Association of Economists and consisted of several activities related to the investment processes in startups.

The event was welcomed by Sergi Morales, councilor for Economic Promotion of Mataró; Lluis Juncà, general director of Innovation, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Generalitat; and Pol Font, president of EconomistesBan. In the pitch competition, four TecnoCampus students presented their entrepreneurial projects:

  • Tornado, presented by Pol Bassons. It has developed an alarm control technology platform as a preventive illegal occupation service for builders and home owners.
  • Podcast Incubator, presented by Pau Cruz. Company specialized in video editing, podcast and social network management, which uses AI to automate processes
  • Pumping, presented by Àlex Aparicio. His project is a marketplace which connects suppliers and consumers in search of products with small factory defects or defects in the furniture sector.
  • Bennu, presented by Roenny Araica. It has developed a B2B solution for flexible remuneration for workers to compensate for falling purchasing power.

    The winning project was Tornado, led by TecnoCampus Electronics and Mechanics engineer Pol Bassons, who obtained direct access to finalist in the university category of the Creatic Awards, which will be awarded next fall.

    The day also included two panel discussions: one with successful entrepreneurs who shared their experience raising funding and scaling their startups. Among the participants, Ivan Ramírez, CEO of Netrivals (acquired by Lengow); Marc Martinell, CEO of Minoryx; Diana Ballart, CEO of The Smart Lollipop; and Eli Abad, founding partner of Between Technologies.

    A panel was also held with investors who explained their own investment policy venture capitals or networks of investors. In this case, the participating investors were Francesc Navarro, Venture Capital at Itnig, Jordi Turmo, director of Green Ventures from Farside, Eli Abad, investor in the Business Angels network of EconomistesBAN, W4Steam and member of Netmentora and Josep Biosca, investor community manager of Ship2B Foundation

    The main activity, the investment forum, allowed eight entrepreneurs to present their projects in front of the audience of investors. At the end of the presentations, a space of networking with refreshments so that entrepreneurs could showcase their products and interact with investors. The participating startups were:
  • energetic: Battery-free IoT solution with sensors to improve maintenance and efficiency of the power grid, reducing costs and facilitating the integration of renewables
  • Athos, personalized and tailor-made footwear solutions through 3D printing technology and patented software. With this technology, they have designed cat feet for climbers, which ensures a better level of comfort, performance and significantly reduces the risk of foot injuries
  • winhost, integrated marketplace platform that resolves end-to-end all rental reservation services (pre booking – booking – post booking) Its mission is to help second home owners save time and monetize their investments.
  • insects: AI software and automation robots to bring Tenebrio molitor production to insect farms, providing a more sustainable protein resource. All phases of the Tenebrio are used, with minimal impact and waste, since even its excrement is used as fertilizer.
  • paymefy: Tool powered by Artificial Intelligence that optimizes and automates the recovery cycle, through personalized user strategies, combining a communication campaign engine with a flexible payment engine with different payment gateways.
  • RRRent: Digital platform for renting and selling clothes, accessories and second-hand. RRRENT Provides variety and quality and at the same time encourages responsible and sustainable consumption. They are already serving Barcelona, ​​Madrid, Seville and Valencia.
  • PYKRS: Design, development and integration of technology for quality and sustainable technical clothing. Their first product is a Bluetooth controllable, heated jacket with active lighting, fall detection, emergency contact alert and tracking systems, waterproof, breathable and insulating and windbreaks and made with recycled materials.
  • Banting Labs: They have developed the first integrated multisensor that allows direct and continuous monitoring of blood glucose for people with type 1 diabetes. With this medical device we aim to improve the quality of life of millions of people, reducing the risk of hypoglycemia and minimizing insulin corrections.
