According to various scientific studies, acquiring new customers is the most significant challenge for startups at all stages of growth. Martin has recently completed a new book on "Startup Marketing" and will share insights from his latest research on how technology-oriented early-stage startups successfully acquired their first paying customers. He is going to give answers on how they succeeded in finding and implementing an effective marketing and sales strategy, along with an analysis of the channels and tactics that led to the best results. He hosts an open science podcast called "Marketing From Zero To One" (conversations are mostly in German) and has conducted interviews with over 100 entrepreneurs in recent years. His main goal was to collect data for his research and the new book, while providing a platform for entrepreneurs to share their stories and learn from one another at the same time.

Prof. Dr. Martin Wrobel is a Professor of Business Administration and Entrepreneurship at Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences and a Research Associate at Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society (HIIG). He is currently spending the winter term at TecnoCampus as a Visiting Professor, where he also teaches. Previously, Martin has been a visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Media Lab) in Cambridge and at The New School (Parsons’ School of Art, Media, and Technology) in New York City and co-authored the book "Unternehmensführung", a classic textbook on business management, now in its fourth edition. Throughout his business career, he helped build and scale the European operations of two SaaS startups, namely Meltwater and Freshworks.
